About the pilot

Dennis Williams, founder of Antler Aviation, was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. His aviation journey began during his service in the U.S. Navy, where he worked as an Aviation Electrician and deployed several times to Iraq with Helicopter Support Squadron 5 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

While in the Navy, Dennis earned his private pilot license, instrument rating, and his Airframe & Powerplant certification through the Navy Flying Club. After completing his enlistment, he returned to Texas and worked in flight test at Lockheed Martin on the F-35 program. But the pull of the skies led him back to flying full time.

He enrolled in the Professional Pilot Program at Texas State Technical College in Waco, earning commercial single- and multi-engine ratings. That took him to Juneau, Alaska, where he flew for several 135 operators and trained on the Cherokee Six, Cessna 207, and Caravan—gaining firsthand experience in the demanding conditions of Southeast Alaska.

In 2016, Dennis moved to Dillingham after his wife, Kara (also a pilot), took a job with Fish and Wildlife. A year later, he launched Antler Aviation: a one-pilot operation built on years of experience, a deep respect for the bush, and a commitment to serving the people of Bristol Bay.
